Composer Paul Hindemith is in the spotlight on Saturday, May 5th at 5 pm. Your hosts Kile Smith and Jack Moore tell the tale and play the music of Hindemith - once the darling of new music and his German rulers, he ran afoul of both groups, and then it seemed as if nothing was going right.

WRTI jazz host Bob Craig will serve as one of the moderators for the Free Speech Film Festival's award ceremony on Wednesday, May 16th at 7 pm. The one-night festival will take place in the Benjamin Franklin Hall of the American Philosophical Society at 427 Chestnut Street  in Philadelphia. More information here.

A wounded deity comes to realize the limits of his power in the heartbreaking second installment of Wagner's "Ring" cycle. Wotan, king of the gods, strives to undo the curse of the ring by fathering a pure-of-heart hero by a mortal woman. But he finds himself torn as events spin out of control and his offspring defy his will.
