WRTI Hosts

Even before "talking pictures," a piano or small orchestra played a key role in the movies.  And long after the era of silent films, the importance of music remains. WRTI’s hosts and arts reporters recount some of the soundtracks and movie tunes that linger.

Love. It smacks us in the head, simmers when it’s cooking, and smolders when it’s over. The music we associate with love does too. We asked WRTI hosts and reporters to give us their takes on the classical music and jazz that fuels the many emotions of love.

Looking for the perfect soundtrack for the holidays? Tired of the same old music? We've got a fix for that. We asked WRTI’s hosts and arts reporters to tell us their go-to holiday favorites. Here are their answers, and the memories, feelings, or just beautiful sounds that inspired them.

WRTI 90.1 takes a step back in time to the days of old-time radio! A group of WRTI staff and hosts display their acting talents in a live, recorded reading of A Christmas Carol, the well-loved story by Charles Dickens. The performance will be broadcast as a holiday gift to our listeners on December 23rd at 5 pm and Christmas Eve at 8 pm on WRTI 90.1.
