The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia: August 19th, 5 pm on ENCORE!

Catch this month's broadcast of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. Music Director Dirk Brossé leads a program that includes The Rococo Variations for cello and orchestra by Tchaikovsky, the Vaughan Williams Oboe Concerto, and Barber's beloved Adagio for Strings.  Hai-Ye Ni is cello soloist in the program, and Geoffrey Deemer is oboe soloist. Sunday, August 19th from 5 to 6 pm.

Phila. Orch. Principals--Phila. Theatre Co.'s GOLDEN AGE--Healing War Veterans--PRISM Quartet's 25th

PRISM Quartet is celebrating its 25-year anniversary. Members include Matthew Levy, Timothy McAllister, Zach Shemon, and Taimur Sullivan.

Jim Cotter speaks with Philadelphia Orchestra principal harp Elizabeth Hainen, and principal cello Hai-Ye Ni. Both are soloists in upcoming concerts under Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos.

Susan Lewis takes us to the Golden Age, a new play by Terrence McNally. The Philadelphia Theater Company production premieres January 22.

Jim Cotter speaks with Gala True, a Veterans Administration medical anthropologist studying the use of story telling techniques found in folklore and oral history projects, to help heal Afghan and Iraq war veterans.
