BOB CRAIG

Bob Craig’s BIG BAND JAZZ Hits 300!

Oct 16, 2016

This Sunday at 7 pm on WRTI, celebrate the 300th broadcast of Big Band Jazz with Bob Craig. Bob launched Big Band Jazz on October 3rd, 2010, and has been delighting audiences with this rich music ever since.

After 26 years of bringing us the stories and sounds of traditional jazz and swing — early jazz from the streets of New Orleans to the music of Harlem clubs in the '20s — Riverwalk Jazz is coming to an end. The program, adored by WRTI listeners, will air for the last time on Sunday, January 3rd at 6 pm.

You can still listen to podcasts of the show here!

Join WRTI's Bob Craig this Sunday, Oct 26th as he remembers Manhattan Transfer founder and artist Tim Hauser by playing part of an interview with Tim from four years ago - listen to clips of that interview below.

An Ocean Township, NJ native and Villanova graduate, Hauser started his musical career right here in our region, and then branched out to New York City, where he wore a few different hats before establishing one of the most popular jazz groups of his era.

Join WRTI's Bob Craig this Sunday night to hear music composed and arranged by Neil Hefti for a number of band - especially Count Basie and Woody Herman. You'll hear several of his songs such as  "Girl Talk," "Lil' Darlin'" and "Cute."

That's on Big Band Jazz, Sunday, March 9, 7 to 8 pm. Don't miss it!

WRTI's much-loved jazz host Bob Craig is celebrating a milestone - 50 years on the air! We're so proud of Bob. He's a seasoned pro, and we're extremely fortunate that he's a part of our WRTI family. Here's his story...
