WRTI's Jeff Duperon attended the 2012 Detroit Jazz Festival. The 33rd year of the event, presented by Chrysler, featured a one-of-a-kind lineup of today’s greatest jazz performers. The performers at this year’s Festival have been nominated for, and won, more than 200 Grammy Awards, composed film scores, and traveled the world to perform.
Bassist, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Marcus Miller will discuss his new release, Renaissance, Friday, September 21st at 6:45 pm. Marcus is performing Sunday, September 23rd at World Café Live in Philadelphia.
Best known for his work with Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock, Marcus has also maintained a prolific solo career. Tune in for an in-depth conversation!
