Choral Arts Philadelphia: The Esteemed Chorus' Debut Concert Broadcast on WRTI

Listen on Sunday, December 9th, 5 to 6 pm for Choral Arts Philadelphia's very first concert broadcast on WRTI. This distinguished chorus, now celebrating its 30-year anniversary, transports listeners into immersive musical experiences of bygone days by reproducing the original instrumental and vocal practices that have marked the history of music.

The program will feature works by J.S. Bach, Rachmaninoff, and a special Hanukkah Cantata by local composer David Ludwig. Music Director Matthew Glandorf conducts.

Bernstein Conducts Bernstein: New York Philharmonic on ENCORE!

A Kimmel Center Double Header on ENCORE!

It's a two-hour "Kimmel Center Presents" program on Sunday, November 18, 3 to 5 pm. In part one, you'll hear a tribute concert featuring legendary organist John Weaver, on the Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ in Verizon Hall. The concert took place this past Spring, and was sponsored by the American Guild of Organists.  It features the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, Sergei Prokofiev, Cesar Frank, and John Weaver himself.

Music Director Alan Gilbert conducts the New York Philharmonic in Russian favorites, Sunday, October 28th, 3 to 5 pm. On the program, Mussorgsky's A Night on Bald Mountain, and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's hypnotic Scheherazade.  The dynamic, young Russian pianist Daniil Trifanov makes his Philharmonic debut in the colorful Piano Concerto No. 3 by Prokofiev in this program.
