Jill Pasternak speaks with Philadelphia Orchestra Principal Harpist Elizabeth Hainen about the upcoming Lyra Society concert featuring 30 harpists led by Maestro Charles Dutoit.

Four harpists will perform with Ms. Hainen during this Crossover show as a preview to the May 26th concert at Curtis' Field Hall.

In addition to Ms. Hainen, we'll hear Kimberly Rowe, Dani Xia, Elizabeth Morgan Ellis, and Gian Torrano Jacobs perform just for WRTI listeners.

Join Jill as she interviews Dr. Josh Perelman, Deputy Director for Exhibitions, Programs and Collections, and Michael Rosenzweig, President and CEO of the National Museum of American Jewish History. They discuss the founding of the museum, the role it plays as the country's only museum dedicated exclusively to telling the still-unfolding story of Jews in America, and the importance of its status as a Smithsonian affiliate institution.

In this encore broadcast Jill speaks with harpist Ann Hobson Pilot, who in 2009 retired from her post as harpist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. We speak about her personal experience as the first and only African American musician in one of the world's most prestigious symphonies, and how that aspect of the music business has changed. Ms. Pilot appeared in recital with violinist Tai Murray on November 21, 2010 at the Settlement Music School's Germantown branch in Philadelphia.
