During the last three decades, Mr. Barrueco's international tours have taken him to some of the most important musical centers in the world. The extraordinary soprano Ruby Elzy was personally chosen by George Gershwin to create the leading role of Serena in the original production of Porgy and Bess. After singing in more than 800 performances, and drawing fame for her signature song "My Man's Gone Now," the Juilliard-trained vocalist - plucked from poverty in Mississippi - was set to take on the role of Aida when tragedy struck at age 35.

The world-famous violinist, a Curtis grad and winner of the Naumburg Violin Competition in 1981, launched her own recording label (NSS Music) in 2005, and is also concertmaster and music director of her own orchestra, the NEW CENTURY Chamber Orchestra based in San Francisco.

NSS Music released Together, Nadja's first recording collaboration with NEW CENTURY, in 2009.
