Jason Vieaux, guitar

This week, a visit from one of today's most exciting new artists-guitarist Jason Vieaux. A 1992 winner of the Guitar Foundation of America's international competition, and a top prize winner in the 1996 Naumburg competition, Vieaux was honored as an artistic ambassador for the US to Southeast Asia in 1995. He was also an NPR "Young Artist-in-Residence" for 2002. He currently holds the position of chair of the guitar department at the Cleveland Institute, and continues to perform with orchestras world-wide to critical acclaim.

THOMAS TIRINO, pianist

We go "south of the border" with a visit from pianist Thomas Tirino. Tirino has worked tirelessly recording and promoting the music of Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona, and released multiple volumes of Lecouna's music on CD. Now, Tirino has turned to another composer, the Brazilian-born Ernesto Nazareth, and has just released a CD of his music.
