Mad Men's music is as important as its plot and costumes. While attention has been lavished on its pop songs, the show's occasional use of classical music has gone largely unrecognized.

What's So Great About Franz Schubert? Gregg Whiteside Knows...

Gregg describes his awe-filled experience visiting the house where Schubert was born in Vienna.

It's so easy to find oneself attracted to the music of Franz Schubert. January 31st, 2013 marks the 215th anniversary of Schubert's birth - so I thought it was an opportune time to share my thoughts on one of my all-time favorite composers.

Remembering Three Composers Who All Died At Auschwitz On This Date in 1944

Three of the 20th century's greatest musicians all died on October 17, 1944 - and all at the hands of the Nazis.  Czech composers Viktor Ullmann, Pavel Haas, and Hans Krasa all perished at Auschwitz (see videos of their music below); they were all taken there just three days after their final concert together on October 14, 1944 at the Theresienstadt concentration camp.
