WRTI Supports Jazz Appreciation Month

In celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month, WRTI will feature recorded vignettes about various jazz musicians that can be heard throughout the month of April, 6:00PM to 6:00AM, daily. In April of 2002, The Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History launched the first annual Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM). Jazz Appreciation Month is celebrated by paying tribute to jazz music and its history through concerts, programs, museum collections, and by spotlighting the current jazz scene to encourage people of all ages to participate in jazz.

WRTI's commitment to providing listeners with jazz music is only one aspect of our efforts to elevate the presence and the importance of jazz music in the Greater Philadelphia Region. In celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month, WRTI will feature recorded vignettes about various jazz musicians that can be heard throughout the month of April, 6:00PM to 6:00AM daily.

Information about our involvement in the metropolitan jazz scene can be viewed in DATEBOOK. Listeners can also tune in to WRTI to hear jazz with host Bob Perkins, J. Michael Harrison, Jeff Duperon, Maureen Malloy, and other notable jazz hosts here on WRTI.
