Great news! In October, WRTI will broadcast four concerts from the Philadelphia Orchestra's summer residency in Saratoga Springs, New York for listeners back home.
The performances at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC)—slated for August 8, 10, 15, and 17—will be conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and will feature soloists Janai Brugger, the Jussen ‘Piano Brothers,’ Jennifer Koh, Serhiy Salov, and Joshua Bell. WRTI will broadcast these concerts on consecutive Sundays in October.
“With incredible broadcast partners like WRTI 90.1 FM, we have the unique ability to bring our performances from abroad home to Philadelphia audiences," says Philadelphia Orchestra Interim President Ryan Fleur. "This partnership with WMHT in Saratoga and WRTI will help expand our reach to new audiences, make programming more accessible, and develop deeper relationships with fans in Saratoga, Philadelphia, and beyond.”
Gregg Whiteside is host of The Philadelphia Orchestra in Concert broadcasts on WRTI 90.1, online at WRTI.org, and on the WRTI app every Sunday at 1 PM.
