Wine & Jazz at Longwood Gardens...WRTI Was There!

Jun 8, 2016

Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer. Or is it? If you've ever been to Longwood Gardens' Wine & Jazz Festival you might say summer actually kicks off on the first Saturday in June. WRTI was there, once again, on June 4th with games and giveaways, the Gardens provided world-class jazz (Arturo Sandoval anyone?), and local wineries did their part to boost spirits even higher.

Hundreds of WRTI listeners spun the wheel of (good) fortune, answered musical trivia questions, and played bean-bag toss for prizes and, in the case of our trivia questions, bragging rights. One of the best prizes, though, was a photo-op with one of our jazz hosts. Check out some of the smiling winners!

If you've never attended the Wine & Jazz Festival, be on the lookout for tickets next year — but plan early. Tickets sold out in three weeks this year, several months before the event. This is not surprising given we all look forward to the start of summer — even if it's unofficial.
