The Philadelphia Flute Quartet brings its distinctive sound to our WRTI performance studio on Thursday, November 1 at 12:10 pm for a live broadcast of contemporary music. The quartet performs throughout the Philadelphia area as well as offering educational presentations and coaching to fellow flutists.
Joining WRTI host Kevin Gordon on the air and live on the WRTI Facebook page are Thomas Meany who teaches at Saint Basil Academy and Settlement Music School. He performs regularly with the Meany/Simmons Flute and Guitar Duo and is a Teaching Artist for Project 440.
Christine Hansen teaches at the Perkins Center for the Arts and the Evesham Flute Studio. She performs with the St. John’s Chamber Orchestra and the Savoy Opera Company.
Anne Levinson teaches at The Shipley School, Friends’ Central School, Gwynedd Mercy Academy, Waldron Mercy Academy and the Chestnut Hill Music Academy.
Kathleen Brown teaches woodwinds and chamber music at Ancillae-Assumpta Academy and has a home studio. Kathleen performs with the Independence Sinfonia and Orchestra Concordia.
On Saturday, November 10th at 2:00 pm, the Philadelphia Flute Quartet is giving a concert at the Parkway Central Free Library Music Department and they’ll be playing several pieces from that concert live in our studio, including;
