Vocalist Max Raabe
Join Jill Pasternak when she speaks with German vocalist Max Raabe, leader of the 12-piece Palast Orchester. Raabe and his orchestra specialize in recreating the sound of German dance and film music of the 1920s and 1930s, especially by performing songs of the Comedian Harmonists. The ensemble has achieved international success for original arrangements of music from the Golden Age of film and dance, including works by Gershwin, Porter, and Berlin, delivered with amusing nostalgia.
