Jill interviews one of today's most talked-about young pianists, 22-year-old Yuja Wang. A 2008 Curtis graduate of Chinese origin, Ms. Wang was recently named Gramophone Magazine's Young Artist of the Year for 2009.

She'll perform with The Philadelphia Orchestra led by Charles Dutoit on October 8th, 9th, and 10th at Verizon Hall. The following week, on October 13th, she'll make her orchestral debut with The Philadelphians at Carnegie Hall. At both venues she'll play Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 16.

Lauded for her controlled, prodigious technique, Yuja's command of the piano has been described as "astounding" and "superhuman." She's also been praised for her authority over the most complex technical demands of the repertoire, the depth of her musical insight, as well as her fresh interpretations and graceful, charismatic stage presence.
