The Argentinian-American pianist Mirian Conti released her second album on the Steinway & Sons label in 2012. Nostalgias Argentinas is a statement...one that has been the subject of many books, plays, and theses.
The remembrance of things past and lost, and places long gone or far away, is explored in the solo piano music of the 1920s. It's as valid today as it was when it was written: for in this time of great migration, the "absence of home" is still present and recognizable. Beautifully played and technically brilliant, Ms. Conti does the honors in her most eloquent fashion.
