The musicians are your hosts for Philadelphia Music Makers, a 31-episode series on WRTI that brings you up close to instrumentalists, vocalists, and composers throughout the Philadelphia region.
Each one-hour show features a classical or jazz artist - a variety of the area's best and brightest, emerging and well-established musicians, performing their favorite pieces and sharing personal and professional stories.
Classical episodes air on Sundays at 5 pm; jazz episodes air on Sundays at 6 pm. Check our website (wrti.org) for details each week.
Elizabeth Hainen, principal harp of The Philadelphia Orchestra, hosts the premiere episode on Sunday, September 21st at 5 pm. Recorded in the intimacy of her own home, we guarantee you'll hear the harpist as never before.
The second episode is hosted by Philadelphia-based soprano Jessica Lennick, a singer with a growing stature whose next major project is the title role in a new opera about the philosopher and novelist Ayn Rand. This episode airs on Sunday, September 28th at 5 pm.
WRTI's Philadelphia Music Makers is co-produced by Jim Cotter and Eric Brannon. Jane Kelly is executive producer.
The series is made possible by a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the generosity of an anonymous WRTI Leadership Circle member, with additional support from WRTI members.
