Nat King Cole Celebration on WRTI HD-2

Voices In Jazz
Sunday, March 14
On WRTI HD-2 and the All-Jazz Stream at wrti.org
3 to 6 pm

Join host Bob Craig for a very special Voices in Jazz as he celebrates the 91st anniversary of the birth of Nat King Cole - born on March 17th, 1919. The show will provide insight into the life and career of the late jazz pianist and vocalist, who died in 1965 at age 45. You'll hear musical selections from Nat's trio days in the '40s, hits from the '50s and '60s, as well as some not-often-heard album tracks. Bob's guest will be Dick LaPalm, Nat's former record promotion manager. Dick served as a liaison between Nat and Capitol records, and was Nat's closest friend.
