LIVE from the WRTI 90.1 Performance Studio! Project Fusion Saxophone Quartet, Dec. 8th at 12 Noon

Dec 5, 2017

Join us Friday at noon to hear Project Fusion, a dynamic young saxophone quartet, when they chat with Classical Coffeehouse Host Debra Lew Harder and perform LIVE. A winner of Astral's 2015 National Auditions, Project Fusion has captured top prizes in prestigious chamber music competitions; the ensemble's concerts have been described as “joyful celebrations.”

While the sound of the string quartet has delighted audiences for centuries, the saxophone quartet—consisting of soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones—brings a new experience to our ears that's harmonious and rich.

The saxophonists of Project Fusion are all classically trained musicians, and met as students at the Eastman School of Music. They’ll share their story and play the Romanian Dances of Bartok, music of J.S. Bach, as well as tangos and works from the contemporary repertoire.

It all adds up to a lively half-hour of fresh music and conversation—we’d love to have you along!

Project Fusion includes: Dannel Espinoza, soprano sax; Matt Amedio, alto sax; Michael Sawzin, tenor sax; and Matthew Evans, baritone sax. The quartet is on the roster of Astral.

Tune in Friday, December 8 at noon to hear Project Fusion LIVE on WRTI 90.1, the WRTI mobile app, and streaming at And check out Project Fusion's concert on December 9th at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Rittenhouse Square, 7:30 pm.
