Listen: Curtis Students Play Schubert LIVE from the WRTI 90.1 Performance Studio

Franz Schubert is the subject of a series of concerts being performed this week at Curtis.

We had a sneak preview of the Curtis Institute’s final Schubertiade events, as Curtis students performed excerpts from Schubert's Trio in B-flat Major in D, LIVE from WRTI's Performance Studio on Thursday, February 15th at 12:10 p.m. WRTI's Jack Moore hosted.

The broadcast features Angela Sin Ying Chan, violin; Andres Sanchez, cello; and Ying Li, piano, and will highlight this Saturday’s concert of Schubert chamber music in Field Concert Hall at the Curtis Institute.  The concert is scheduled for 8 pm—the final event in a weeklong celebration of Schubert (there are also events scheduled for Friday, Feb 16 and earlier Saturday, Feb 17, with lieder and other works to be performed).

Watch the broadcast on our Facebook page!

The Schubert Trio is one of the cornerstones of the chamber music repertoire, written the year before the composer’s death. Listen on WRTI 90.1, online at WRTI.org, or on the WRTI Mobile App.

The Curtis Schubertiade is a series of free public recitals on Feb 11, 16, and 17 to perform the great salon masterworks of Austrian composer Franz Schubert (1797–1828). These programs celebrate a profound and prolific genius who forever altered the course of Western classical music despite his tragically short life.
