Jazz Up Close on WRTI: A Celebration of McCoy Tyner

Join host Maureen Malloy on Sunday, April 22nd at 6 pm for the final installment of this season's Jazz Up Close series from the Kimmel Center. This grand finale celebrates the music of Philadelphia's own McCoy Tyner.

The performers paying homage to Mr. Tyner include series curator and world-famous pianist Danilo Perez, joined by drummer Brian Blade, bassist John Patitucci, and Kenny Garrett on saxophone. They'll perform Tyner's music and discuss their selections at the intermission chat. This will truly be a concert to remember. And even if you attend the performance on April 14th, you'll definitely want to tune in to hear it all over again on WRTI.
