Itzhak Perlman Conducts and Performs With The Philadelphia Orchestra on WRTI: January 12 at 1 PM

Classical music icon Itzhak Perlman is conductor and violin soloist in this live recorded concert from late November, 2013 at the Kimmel Center. Listen as Mr. Perlman leads the Philadelphia Orchestra and plays Beethoven’s Romance No. 1 and 2 for violin and orchestra.

Itzhak Perlman talks backstage with WRTI's Susan Lewis about his love of the beautiful melody in Beethoven's Romances, shares the advice he offers every one of his students, and discusses his musical life.

Also on the program is the exquisite Philadelphia Orchestra string section playing Dvorak’s lyrical and sparkling Serenade for Strings, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2, and the Brahms Academic Festival Overture.
