Itzhak Perlman Conducts and Performs With The Philadelphia Orchestra on WRTI: August 17th at 1 PM

Violinist and conductor Itzhak Perlman

Classical music icon Itzhak Perlman is conductor and violin soloist in this live recorded concert from late November, 2013 at the Kimmel Center. Listen as Mr. Perlman leads the Philadelphia Orchestra and plays Beethoven’s Romance No. 1 and 2 for violin and orchestra.

Also on the program is the exquisite Philadelphia Orchestra string section playing Dvorak’s lyrical and sparkling Serenade for Strings, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2, and the Brahms Academic Festival Overture.

Gregg was the host of WRTI's morning drive show from 2012 until his retirement from WRTI in January, 2021. He began producing and hosting The Philadelphia Orchestra In Concert broadcasts in 2013, joining the Orchestra in Hong Kong for the first-ever live international radio broadcasts from that island in 2016, and in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem for two historic broadcasts in 2018. You can still hear Gregg as host of the Orchestra broadcasts every Sunday and Monday on WRTI.
