Fusing the sounds of original tango instrumentation and electronic music, the Buenos Aires-based "electrotango" band Tanghetto is featured this week on Crossover. Formed in 2001 by producer and composer/songwriter Max Masri and composer/arranger and instrumentalist Diego S. Velazquez, the band's lineup includes bandoneon, violoncello, acoustic piano, acoustic and electric guitar, electronic and acoustic drums, samplers, and synthesizers. Check out the Latin Grammy-nominated Tanghetto at Skybox in Philadelphia's Fishtown section on Saturday, May 29, 2010, starting at 9 pm for tango lessons and then a performance at 11 pm.
Tangehtto is headlining the first Philadelphia International Tango Festival, taking place May 28th to 30th, 2010.
