Philadelphia, PA – SEPTA (the Southeastern PA Transportation Authority) received a $175 million loan in January 2011 to modernize its token and paper transfer fare system. WRTI's Timothy Churchill speaks with SEPTA officials and area residents about using "smart card" technology, which should be fully implemented on buses, trolleys, subways, and regional rail by 2114.
