AVA's JUBILATE! on WRTI

A Concert of Sacred Music and Oratorio Masterpieces
Sunday, March 18th, 3 to 6 pm

Join us as the Academy of Vocal Arts presents its annual concert of sacred vocal music featuring time-honored favorites from the repertoire.

One of the most eagerly awaited concerts of the season, JUBILATE! showcases the incredible vocal firepower of AVA's talented young soloists, backed up by a 100-voice choir. Together, they perform works by Vivaldi, Bach, Handel, Mozart, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Gounod, Dvorak, Puccini, and more! David Antony Lofton conducts the AVA Opera Orchestra, the New Jersey MasterChorale, and soloists. The concert takes a departure from its traditional all-sacred format to include one of the great scenes from opera - Boito's Mefistofele. The final scene vividly depicts the triumph of good over evil, and is a tour-de-force for tenor and bass.

AVA soloists include bass-baritone Musa Ngqungwana, tenor Zach Borichevsky, mezzo-soprano Chrystal Williams, and coloratura soprano Maria Aleida. They perform with the AVA Opera Orchestra, and the 100-voice New Jersey MasterChorale in a concert that was recorded on March 11th in Haddonfield. Master Vocal Coach and conductor David Antony Lofton is on the podium.
