All About Christian McBride's 'The Movement Revisited'

Christian McBride

World-class musician and Philadelphia native Christian McBride is presenting his widely acclaimed The Movement Revisited at the Merriam Theater on Saturday, November21st at 8 pm.WRTI's Bob Craig spoke with McBride about the evolution of the show.

Originally presented as a Black History Month feature in 1998, the show was written for a small jazz group. Ten years later, it was expanded to incorporate an 18-piece band, along with the Philadelphia Heritage Chorale, and actors reading from speeches by four famous civil rights activists.

The work has been updated to close with President Obama’s inauguration speech as recited by the actors.

McBride is extremely proud to bring this show to his hometown!
