It's Dave Brubeck All Night: December 6th to 7th

Join WRTI as we celebrate 91 years of Dave Brubeck! The birthday festivities kick off at 6 pm with Bob Perkins as he plays some of Brubeck's true classics, and some lesser-known (yet still magnificent) works. At 9 pm, Maureen Malloy will bring you Brubeck's live recordings, selections from performances with his sons, and other music from his sons' band, The Brubeck Brothers. The music of this groundbreaking pianist/composer will continue until 6 am.

A Classical Thanksgiving on WRTI

Get ready for a Thanksgiving day filled with the sounds of American music during classical hours. We'll play a traditional array of works by American composers, including Copland, Gershwin, Bernstein, and more. On November 25th, and 26th you'll hear music written and/or performed by some of the leading musical families of the past 300 years. Join us!

From the Bach family, the Scarlatti family, the Viennese Strausses, the Jarve family of conductors and others, it will be a great family event.

Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia-based MANNA (the Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance) provides three meals a day, seven days a week throughout the year, for its clients who face life-threatening illnesses. WRTI's Joe Irizarry looks at MANNA's annual PIE IN THE SKY fundraiser that helps its clients have a special Thanksgiving through the sale of pies.
