On Sunday June 2nd, WRTI, ICON magazine, Jacobs Music, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and Drum Workshop join forces to sponsor "An Afternoon of Jazz and Classical Music." WRTI's Bob Perkins will play host to jazz vocalist Paula Johns, The All-Star Jazz Quartet featuring Bruce Klauber, Andy Kahn, Bruce Kaminsky and Asher Stein, The Musicopia Student Drum Line, pianist Hanchien Lee from The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and other guests.

Music for double-bass and orchestra and a Schubert Symphony are on the program for this month's broadcast concert by the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. Guest Conductor Michael Stern, Music Director of the Kansas City Symphony (and son of violin great Isaac Stern) leads a program that features Philadelphia Orchestra Assistant Principal Double-bassist Joseph Conyers in one of the virtuoso concertos by 19th century bassist Giovanni Bottesini. Sunday, Feb. 17, 5 to 6 pm.

Three Philadelphia Ensembles Collaborate For A Landmark Performance

The Mendelssohn Club Chorus, the Philadelphia Boys Choir, and The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia are set to perform at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in a very special concert that includes the world premiere of Robert Moran’s expanded - and haunting - 9/11 tribute, Trinity Requiem.

The Philadelphia Inquirer's David Patrick Stearns looks ahead to the October 21st event, that also features Bruckner's Mass in E minor and Moran's Angele Dei.
